School Psychology: a Brazilian Crossroads

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the uses of psychology and of the so-called active methodologies in educational contexts. This debate is important in Latin America, as in many Brazilian states, such it is the case of Sergipe State, which is approaching a turning point in including psychologists in public schools. The analysis of this article emphatic that a saucerful implementation of psychological support for students needs to focus on classroom-level and student-level strategies, prioritizing first, actions that will have a collective impact, helping foster a healthier school environment.
