Abstract

NoMoPhobia (No MObile PHone PhoBIA) is the worry that individuals experience when they are unable to use their mobile phone or are without it. The term was came to existence from the British Postal Service Study and is now considered as a contemporary form of phobia. The objective of this investigation was to conduct a review of NoMoPhobia among higher education students. In this investigation, 18 review papers were selected from the Scopus and Google Scholar databases. The investigation was limited to English-language articles and covered publications from 2016 to 2024, without any geographical restrictions. The authors' names, publication years, study tools, types of studies, targeted populations, and primary findings were among the data that was extracted from the reviewed articles. Higher education students were identified as the most susceptible to NoMoPhobia. The research results indicated that NoMoPhobia was more prevalent among females than among males. NoMoPhobia was linked to poor academic performance and a variety of factors, such as the daily duration of smartphone use, psychoactive substance use, and being in a relationship. Furthermore, insomnia, anxiety, social isolation, sleeplessness, smartphone addiction, and Facebook addiction were all significantly positively correlated with NoMoPhobia.
